Principal's
Corner
Dear Students
and Staff,
Welcome back to another exciting school
year. With the fall weather comes a new school year and
a new opportunity to plan for the future.
Tracy High School,
along with other alternative programs, offers students in
our community several different ways to make up school credit.
There are numerous reasons why students fall behind in school,
family problems, health problems, and attendance problems
just to name a few. Whatever the reasons, the fact is that
every single failing grade a student earns in high school
must be made up before graduation. This is the reason every
community in California needs a school dedicated to helping
students regain their academic position after they have
experienced a problem period in school. That is the reason
school districts are required to have alternative programs
like Tracy. The ABC Unified Community is fortunate to have
one of the best Alternative High Schools in the State here
at Tracy. Tracy offers students, who have good attendance
and work habits, the chance to earn credit at an accelerated
pace. Students who come to Tracy a semester or a year behind
in academic credit have the opportunity to take extra classes,
receive work experience credits and to earn bonus credit.
Students who work hard for a semester or two have the chance
to transfer back to their home schools to graduate, or to
graduate on time, or even early, from Tracy.
The four most important factors in catching
up in credit are, good attendance, being on task in class,
being a good citizen and being cooperative in classes. Also
remember, part of being a good citizen at school, includes
being on time for every class and being polite and cooperative
with all school staff and with classmates.
Welcome Back – Tracy Students
Sincerely
Tom Drulias
Principal
